September 15, 2011 Just returned from Portland Oregon and Musicfest NW. Three days of KEXP broadcast and live on air performances from the Doug Fir. Had a great time and even made it out in the evenings to catch more music. The Bumbershoot festival over labor day also had me busy mixing KEXP live performances from our private stage. Highlights for me were Trombone Shorty and Vusi Mahlasela Laid down some pedal steel for my old friends in Estocar. The new stuff sounds cool and I’m looking forward to hearing the finished product. October will take me to Iceland for the Iceland Airwaves Festival. Then it’s off to New York for CMJ.
